This afternoon, as we were talking to our 85 year old grandmother about the logistics of keeping a small dog in her urban apartment, we had an aha moment. When asked how she was planning to potty train her new dog and deal with after dark “walks”, she said she had heard of attractive, affordable environmentally-friendly dog grass patches. This way her new pup could “go” whenever she wanted – day or night, rain or shine. Grandma was right, as usual. DoggieLawn actually delivers an indoor doggy potty right to her front door. Now that she has convinced us she can handle a tiny companion, she just has to convince one of the doggie adoption agencies to approve her application. Continue Reading →
Memorial Day is just around the corner but there is still plenty of time to order a few extras to add a festive touch to your party and you don't need to spend a fortune to do so. We love the little pin wheel and stars and stripes fans. M & M candies are fun, easy and inexpensive party favor. Good looking paper plates and napkins are always essential. Throw a few small vases filled with swirl pops around the room intermixed with this simple fresh flower arrangement (ok – we admit, no matter how great our decor, it never seems quite complete unless we have at least one vase of fresh flowers). And finally, American flags remind us of the meaning of Memorial Day. Continue Reading →
Foxy everything is by far the latest and greatest animal obsession to hit the states. It all started with the Ylvis – The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?) Video parody created by a Norwegian comedy duo. In just under a month they have racked up 100 million YouTube views, have the web’s most-streamed song, and have booked guest appearances on Ellen Degeneres and the Today Show. This video has even spawned this year's best group Halloween costume.
Now that we are all hooked on the absolute adorableness of the fox, we can definitely see the fox / woodland theme popping up in holiday cards, birthday parties, baby showers and even as nursery wall art. We are at once surprised at just how much fox “stuff” is available and yet how hard it is to find products that work for party decor without having to DIY. Continue Reading →
In times of economic uncertainty, many of us are cutting expense yet looking for creative ways to maintain a full and vibrant life style. For years, Americans have gone all out for Halloween celebrations often sparing no expense in assembling frighteningly elaborate costumes and accessories. There is really no need for Halloween 2018 to be the year of the ghost. Re-fold your old sheets and get ready to double your fun. In addition to your annual Halloween party festivities, host a pre-Halloween or even last minute pre-trick or treating costume exchange party. Continue Reading →
Recently we came across a question asking for ideas for a “good things come in small packages” themed bat mitzvah. Seldom do we come across new great theme ideas, so not surprisingly, we were hooked from the get go especially since there seemed to be so many positive ways to incorporate a lovely message into the celebration. Although we have not developed an absolutely complete theme package, this post is fairly comprehensive and covers most elements needed to put together a great party with an emphasis on charitable giving. This unique party theme would also be perfect for a baby shower, school fundraiser, quinceanera celebration, or birthday party or retirement party for anyone of petite stature.
There is still plenty of time to plan a spooky Halloween party filled with bats and ghosts, spiderwebs and black cats. PartyIdeaPros has gathered the best of the best in party planning, ideas, and supplies including a large selection of spooky Halloween invitations, paper goods, Halloween party decor, Halloween printable games, spooky lip pops and other spooky goodies.
Whether you are planning a kids monster bash, a couples costume party, asking your guests to wear scary clown costumes or even hosting a Gangnam style Halloween celebration, this is the time to pull out all the stops. Halloween is one holiday where there is no such thing as over the top. The scarier, the spookier the decor the better.
If you and your family have not yet seen Disney Pixar's Coco, we highly recommend you head on over to Netflix or Amazon Prime Video! This is easily one of our all time favorite movies. Coco is an educational, adorable and heart-warming animated film about Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). If you and your children are a fan of the movie seriously consider using the movie to inspire your next birthday party. Not only will your party be visually brilliant, its beautiful meaningful message will set your party apart from the rest, in only good ways! (This is a great theme for classroom parties as well). Are you stuck on what desserts you want to serve at your special occasion? Do you want something colorful, fun, and full of variety? Why not create a spectacular candy buffet full of delectable sweets and sugary treats? There are so many creative and imaginative ways to display candies, and we’re going to share some of our absolute favorites!
Once you’ve chosen your party theme colors, choosing your sweets for your candy bar should be fairly easy. We suggest you do a dry run with your empty containers to see how your chosen vessels look on your candy buffet. You’ll want your tallest vessel or decoration either in the center, or two tall vessels on the outside edges, with your smaller vessels near the front of the table. This will bring symmetry to your candy bar. Continue Reading →
