Our close friends and occasional PIP contributors, Vicki and Paige, landed in Waco, Texas for a fun week in search of all things fabulous. It did not take them long to discover a set of wonderful burlap silverware holders. We hate to admit it but this was our first encounter with utensil holders and we are smitten. So of course, we felt compelled to spend a couple of of hours researching burlap utensil pockets and then decided to share a few of our favorites with you. We envision using cutlery pockets for weddings, bridal & baby showers, and birthday & dinner parties . We also think burlap cutlery holders could really add that sometime elusive but all so important little splash of wow to your Thanksgiving tables! Continue Reading →

If you and your family have not yet seen Disney Pixar's Coco, we highly recommend you head on over to Netflix or Amazon Prime Video! This is easily one of our all time favorite movies. Coco is an educational, adorable and heart-warming animated film about Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). If you and your children are a fan of the movie seriously consider using the movie to inspire your next birthday party. Not only will your party be visually brilliant, its beautiful meaningful message will set your party apart from the rest, in only good ways! (This is a great theme for classroom parties as well). Today's mom's have little trouble creating beautiful and festive children's birthday party celebrations but sometimes between our own crazy busy schedules and the quest to throw the this year's most talked about event, we forget to add the little things that make the day especially meaningful. We think it is important for kids to know how much we love them but equally important for them to understand they are not the center of the universe. Children need to learn and develop a healthy sense of self which includes compassion and caring of others. What better day to teach this lesson than on the very day they are lavished with gifts. Teach by example – integrate a “Give back” craft activity into your child's birthday party in addition the the usual birthday fun and party games.
And with the holiday spirit upon us, why wait for your child's next birthday party. This “Give Back” craft activity would be a wonderful addition to any classroom holiday party and equally brilliant to incorporate into your own kid-friendly holiday celebrations. Continue Reading →
Bring the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings together at your next family reunion with lively games perfect for all ages. Fun for the whole family. Printable family reunion games will help everyone get to know each other better with games like Famly Reunion Bingo and Grandma's Measurements. Let the laughter (and games) begin!
Update! We are so disappointed that Funsational, our “go to” printable games merchants has shuttered her shop and we cannot find the featured family affair game any where else. You might try to print it directly from our page — it probably will not be as sharp an image as we normally like, but it might just be “good enough”. Not to worry though, there are plenty of other family reunion printables on Etsy and of course, there is always Print Games Now!
Ask my grandmother what help she had when she’d throw a dinner party back in the day and her reply will be: “Absolutely none. I’d start from scratch with a few old recipes my mother scribbled down into a notebook.”
Thankfully nowadays, we have apps like Panna to make our dinner party experience that much better. Panna is the video cooking app that allows you to stream and follow step-by-step recipes from master chefs across America—all the while in your own kitchen. Sounds too good to be true? Guess again!
Here are a few reasons why our favorite Panna master chefs—like Rick Bayless, Melissa Clark, Hugh Acheson, Nancy Silverton—will soon be your best dinner party mentors.
