This afternoon, as we were talking to our 85 year old grandmother about the logistics of keeping a small dog in her urban apartment, we had an aha moment. When asked how she was planning to potty train her new dog and deal with after dark “walks”, she said she had heard of attractive, affordable environmentally-friendly dog grass patches. This way her new pup could “go” whenever she wanted – day or night, rain or shine. Grandma was right, as usual. DoggieLawn actually delivers an indoor doggy potty right to her front door. Now that she has convinced us she can handle a tiny companion, she just has to convince one of the doggie adoption agencies to approve her application. Continue Reading →

Recently we came across a question asking for ideas for a “good things come in small packages” themed bat mitzvah. Seldom do we come across new great theme ideas, so not surprisingly, we were hooked from the get go especially since there seemed to be so many positive ways to incorporate a lovely message into the celebration. Although we have not developed an absolutely complete theme package, this post is fairly comprehensive and covers most elements needed to put together a great party with an emphasis on charitable giving. This unique party theme would also be perfect for a baby shower, school fundraiser, quinceanera celebration, or birthday party or retirement party for anyone of petite stature.
Whether you like playing sports or watching sports, a sports theme party is a winning combination for fans of all ages.
This celebration package is what we are calling All Sports. If you are interested in a specific sport, check out Party Idea Pros other sports theme celebration packages:

A tea party is a perfect theme for birthday (children, teen, and adult), sweet sixteen, quinceanera, and Bat Mitzvah celebrations, school fundraisers, sorority soirees, Mothers Day, and bridal and baby showers. Right now, we have showcased products for both adult and children’s parties but hope to create new packages specifically for children’s tea parties and quirky Alice in Wonderland tea parties soon.
If your child is crazy for the character who lives in a pineapple under the sea, throw a SpongeBob SquarePants birthday party! Read on for our ideas on creating a perfect SpongeBob SquarePants birthday party with ideas on decorations, favors, games, invitations and more.
Who is SpongeBob Square Pants?
Deep down in the Pacific Ocean in the subterranean city of Bikini Bottom lives a square yellow sea sponge named SpongeBob Squarepants. SpongeBob lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, loves his job as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab, and has a knack for getting into all kinds of trouble without really trying. When he's not getting on the nerves of his cranky next door neighbor Squidward, SpongeBob can usually be found smack in the middle of all sorts of strange situations with his best buddy, the simple yet lovable starfish, Patrick, or his thrill-seeking surfer-girl squirrel pal, Sandy Cheeks. In Bikini Bottom, fish walk, blowing bubbles is art, and the tastiest undersea treat is a deep-fried Krabby Patty Burger. Dive in and soak it all up with SpongeBob! (SpongeBob Square Pants TV Promo)
Party Idea Pros has an “old fashion” approach to kids’ parties. We say keep them small, keep them short, and keep them simple. We love hula hoops, beach balls,, crayons, washable markers, glue sticks, and musical instruments. Generally, the number of guest should equal the age of the birthday child, but don’t obsess if you are a few over or under — it is not worth the hurt feelings for an extra child or even two. Never, ever deliver invitations as school, unless every single child is invited!!!!! Skip the jumpies and the pony rides.

Thanksgiving is without doubt my favorite holiday — beautiful tables, great food, and none of the stress associated with the winter holidays. This is the perfect time to reconnect with loved ones whether they be family or friends. So first things first, if you haven't yet made your travel arrangements, the time is NOW! …
Thanksgiving Dinner Party Table Decor
Last year we hosted Thanksgiving in San Diego – here is a peek at our tables! In complete disclosure – since we live in San Diego, beautiful weather made it possible for us to host Thanksgiving outdoors. Simple solar powered patio lights and lots of candles provided enough light even after sunset. As you can see, we tried to mix elegant with fanciful touches. Continue Reading →
We love this painted pumpkin vase with fresh flowers that showed up on our Facebook feed from Beau-coup, one of our favorite party favor merchants. Yes, flowers always look great in pumpkins but an orange pumpkin with fall flowers is very predictable. All they did in this photo was spray paint this pumpkin white and add a chic contemporary floral arrangement to create a fresh centerpiece look for fall. We love the painted pumpkin displayed on the acacia cake stand also!
We also think this idea would translate well to an intimate dinner party or could even be used at each place setting as a place card / party favor (one per couple is just fine!). Simply use a miniature painted pumpkin and add a handful of freshly picked ombre flowers...
Every once in a while we receive a request that requires us to drop everything and get right on it. Tonight I received such a call from my mom & dad simply asking “Where are your Thanksgiving place cards?” When I went back to our Thanksgiving Entertaining Planning, Ideas, and Supplies package I realized although we had a few cute place card holders featured there were no fabulous place cards. The challenge was on! Continue Reading →
