Preparing festive holiday party snacks does not mean you need to devote hours and hours in the kitchen. Plus, if you take our advice, you will not only save time, you will save money because you are portion controlling your food. The key is investing in some fun serving pieces like mini cocktail glasses, mini moscow mule cups, and even some ceramic Asian spoons you can use over and over again. Once you have a few of these basics, you can make the simplest of foods look festive and elegant. We have also checked, and all the serving piece suggestions we mention here are still available for delivery before Christmas although you may have to pay a little extra for expedited delivery.

Seattle Seahawks Themed Wedding (or Better Yet, Rehearsal Dinner)
It is Joe & Adam's favorite time of year – football season! And as they, or more likely their fiancees, are finishing up plans for their upcoming nuptials, it is not too late to add a few personal touches to the festivities. There is absolutely no reason why you cannot say I DO in fan style, so long as you own it! Personally, we would make the rehearsal dinner an all Seahawks (or your favorite team) kind of night and then have the groom and all the groomsmen wear Seahawks bow ties with their wedding tuxedos (Be sure to check out Men's Formal Wedding Attire >> To Rent or To Own? The best argument for investing in your own tuxedo!) Continue Reading →
Fun Wedding Registries
Now that you are engaged, in addition to starting to obsess about the myriad of wedding details, you will also want to start thinking about what your life together might look like and all the “stuff” you will need (or might want) to get you started on this life long journey. This week on Small Talk Big Day, Amber lends some expert insight into creating fun wedding registries .
Just one note for your guests >> Even if you receive a Save the Date, we think it is best to wait until you get an official wedding invitation before you buy your wedding gifts. Besides, the registry is a work in progress. Give the bride and groom enough time to edit their wish list. As time goes on their priorities, and even taste, may evolve. Continue Reading →

Hey ladies! Today we have one bit of advice that we are pretty certain no one has ever shared with you before. It runs contrary to popular opinion and may even make the super sweet brides among you balk. Every single bride-to-be we knows falls into this same trap. She never ever registers for enough gifts for the number of guests invited to all of the events hosted in her honor, let alone for enough expensive gifts. Yes, you read that right, you need to register for more luxury goods and big-ticket items.
Your wedding registry is NOT the place to prove to the world you are simple and have little need for worldly goods. If that is truly the case, simply do not register. Filling out your wedding registry is the time to be both practical and aspirational. It is not greedy to like nice things. Clearly your guests have lots of choices and hopefully, will be able to find something lovely to gift in their price range. Continue Reading →
This week on Small Talk Big Day, Amber, from Wedding Paper Divas, offers easy tips for wedding invitation wording. Two of Party Idea Pros most frequently asked questions is how to address wedding invitations and how much information to actually include on the invitation itself. Sometimes it is just as important to know what not to include especially if it might be a major wedding faux pas. Here are some great tips on what not to say to your guests:
Creating a gender reveal party post has been on the top of our “to do” list for ages. Since we still have not gotten around to creating our own, we thought we would at least share some ideas from one of our “go to” party suppliers, Windy City Novelties. And as usual, we could not help ourselves and ended up editing their copy and even throwing in a few (ok, more than a few) ideas of our own.
What are Gender Reveal Parties?
Gender reveal parties have become quite popular over the past few years. Oftentimes, gender reveal parties are held in the place of a baby shower, and both men and women are invited to the event. However, there are couples that will hold both a gender reveal party and a baby shower. At the gender reveal party, the guests, and sometimes the parents themselves, will find out the sex of their unborn child. The purpose of the party is to share the news and celebrate with close friends and family.
We so loved Ceiling Tile Ideas concept of using tin ceiling tiles as magnetic seating charts or escort card boards for weddings, mitzvahs, quinceaneras, sweet sixteens, anniversary and every celebration, we decided to feature it here. The best part is that the tile can be painted to coordinate with your party decor. The pictures below, featured on Ruffled , are great for a manor or vintage style wedding, but the decorative metal tile idea is extremely versatile and will work equally well with any style even an art deco or modern look. How cute are these color-in kids thank you notes from Tiny Prints. We are huge believers in teaching children from a very young age the importance of communicating gratitude. In fact, we think the sending of thank you notes, at any age is an etiquette must. (Brides and grooms are you listening? We are still awaiting way too many thank you notes. Although your guests may have a year to send a present, you do not have a year to send out your thank you's. Think a few weeks – a month at the most!) Continue Reading →
