2019 Holiday Card Trends
It is not too early to order your 2018 Holiday Cards! There are so many holiday cards from which to choose, so where to begin? Well this year, PartyIdeaPros finally got our act together enough to plan in advance for the holiday card season. We contacted some of our favorite merchants so we could actually touch and feel the cards ourselves. Yes, we admit it — we are ridiculously touchy feely types. Our trash cans are filled with not so cheap cards printed on flimsy paper with fuzzy photos and illegible print. On the other hand, our sample books are chock full of Minted cards and invitations. We love their clear graphics and beautiful eco-friendly papers. This year's Christmas and Hanukkah card trends include rounded corners, back designs, ornament cards, lots and lots of foil an glitter, and are chock full of images of winter greenery. In secular society, January 1st is the official start of the new year but for Jewish people world wide, Rosh Hashanah marks the new year and new beginnings. For me, Rosh Hashana is one of my very favorite Jewish holidays. It is generally celebrated in September or early October. We cannot give you an exact date since the Hebrew lunar calendar is only 354 days verses 365 days in the solar calendar so the days don't line up the same every year. For example, Rosh Hashana 2018 begins on the evening of September 9th whereas the next year the holiday starts on the evening of September 29, 2019. This often coincides with the onset of a new school year. Growing up, when we went back to school shopping we also picked up a new Fall outfit for the High Holidays. To this day we buy a school calendar (September – September) rather than the traditional January to January calendar. It seems more organic, more intuitive. Continue Reading →
Free Printables Celebrate Dads
Today we received the best looking wedding save the date we have seen in quite some time. It immediately brought to mind Hello Lucky, one of our favorite stationery merchants. Turns out they recently retired their custom invitations to concentrate on greeting cards. While perusing their new product line we happened upon these beautifully designed FREE printables for dad. Yes they are perfect for Father's Day but hey, Dads' have birthdays and enjoy gifts at the holidays too and most Dads' deserve to be celebrated everyday! We especially love the custom vintage style beer labels and sock bands. What a way to make giving a ho hum pair of black socks special.
