There is no better party than Carnivale and no better time to pull out all the stops and don your Mardi Gras finest. First we culled through hundreds of costumes to gather the best of the best Mardi Gras costumes and then we searched for great jester costumes, Voodoo costumes, and Masquerade costumes to make sure you had enough options. We particularly love the Voodoo Doctor and His Voodoo Dolls as a great group costume for both trick or treating teens or adult costume parties. And don't you think this beautiful watercolor card depicting a Venetian Masquerade party would make for wonderful inspiration for a visual twist on the standard Carnivale, Halloween, or Mardi Gras costume party? With the vampire ripe holiday of Halloween quickly approaching, we have decided to throw back to one of our original parties, The Twilight Saga Party. Back in the day, ok 2009, we, and much of the country, were very, very into anything and everything Twilight, Bella, Edward and Jacob. Since the Twilight heyday has clearly come and gone and truthfully, there are not that many Twilight related products still available, we have decided to combine all our various Twilight Saga parties into a single post.
Do you not agree, spending this Halloween cuddled on the couch re-watching The Twilight Saga Complete Collection sounds way better than wandering the streets and coming across a creep wearing a scary clown costume. Continue Reading →
Personalized Halloween Cocktail Napkins
When we first saw this picture on Tiny Prints instagram, all we could think of is we need to share this modern take on a very classic party idea. Years ago, no self respecting hostess would consider throwing a party without having ordered personalized cocktail napkins. We find it fascinating that all things from the 1970's are very much back in vogue this year including cocktail napkins. The only difference is that in the day, the graphic was design was usually minimal, maybe a small rose or leaf combined with the guest of honor's name in one of a half dozen or so typography choices. Today, we are privy to fabulous graphics and a whole slew of fonts from which to choose. Continue Reading →
2015 has been quite the year. We were so inspired by this Great Gets post imagining Halloween costumes ripped from the headlines. Theme your Halloween and create a ripped from the headlines Halloween party! Tell your guests to arrive in costumes straight off the front page and the evening news — between politics, sports, and culture, there's plenty to choose from! These costumes are easy, fun, and add a touch of humor and pop culture knowledge to any Halloween party. And yes although some of the featured costumes are satirical and poke a bit of fun at politicians and other public figures, we have made a conscious decision not to feature costumes we deem disrespectful, or have the potential to incite violence or foster hatred and we implore you to do the same. Please no Caitlyn Jenner or Black Lives Matter costumes, and please, please stay away from anything and everything ISIS.

Gangnam Style Dancing Gals
We have had so much interest in our Psy's Gangnam Style Costumes we thought it might be fun to do a follow-up in response to the many requests asking for additional Gangnam style costume ideas for gals.
Our most asked question is how to create female versions of the male characters. Here are a few of our favorite female Psy costumes. One piece of advice – don't dawdle. Most pieces have limited availability and are flying off the shelves!

Psy's Gangnam Style was the first video to hit 1B YouTube views! What better way to spend Halloween than riding an invisible horse in unison with the entire Gangnam Style entourage. The toughest decision you have is whether to be the awesomely hilarious elevator guy, yellow suited dance star, or Psy himself! We did our best to put together ensemble options but this unique style is selling out fast. We'll continue to update your wardrobe options as they become available and remember, the way to truly master the Gangnam Style is to perfect the horse riding dance while holding that serious look on your face!

Kids love piñatas almost as much as they love candy. So combining a piñata with Halloween trick or treating – how perfect is that! We love these Halloween Piñatas – a scary black cat, a giant flying bat, a witch on a broomstick, an adorable Frankenstein, and a great carved pumpkin.
Halloween Piñatas are not only perfect additions to any party they may be a great alternative for those of you not so into trick or treating, begging for candy by knocking on strangers doors. The fact is that some children really do find the holiday of Halloween scary and overwhelming so inviting a few friends over to your house for a costume party may be just the answer. Send out Halloween invitations, serve Halloween theme food & drink, play Halloween games, offer cute Halloween party favors, have a costume fashion show, and end the festivities with breaking the piñata so everyone walks away with a bagful of candy. This way you also have complete control over the candy and don't have to comb through pillow cases full of yucky unwrapped candy handed out by strangers.
Have a safe Halloween and party hearty!
