Dr. Seuss Theme Party Planning, Ideas & Supplies

A Dr Seuss theme party is not just limited to children's birthday celebrations.  Be creative – think baby showers, graduation parties (Oh, the Places You'll Go), Halloween (Green Eggs and Ham) and Christmas parties (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) , and elementary school fundraisers and teacher appreciation days.  We love Dr. Seuss and concoct any excuse to create a party theme using works as inspiration.

Let the Adventures Begin! Travel Themed Party Planning, Ideas & Supplies

Let the Adventures Begin!

Travel Themed Party Planning, Ideas & Supplies

Back in February we featured Travel Themed Party DIY Compass Place Cards . At the time we promised to follow up with more travel themed party ideas. And ever since, we have been collecting ideas. For weddings we love Beau-coup's  exclusive Our Greatest Adventure party supplies.  These travel themed party supplies are right on trend since today’s young couples tend to focus more on life experiences and less on consumable goods. Hence, it seems very appropriate their celebrations reflect this philosophy of life.

Truthfully, we have also been a bit obsessed with the concept of interweaving an adventure inspired travel themed party across numerous lifecycle celebrations. In addition to weddings think graduations, mitzvah and quinceanera celebrations, and even retirement parties.

Update! For the next few weeks Beau-coup is offering up to 25% OFF many of their Our Greatest Adventure and other travel themed party supplies and decor. Each day's deal will be clearly posted at the top of the page. Continue Reading →

The Starfish Poem – Words of Advice for Graduates

(words of advice for college graduates … + the starfish poem)

Life is too short not to do something that patters art print from gaping void

Words of Advice for Graduates & The Starfish Poem

Update >> Since graduation season is once again upon us, we have decided to republish this post since it seems as relevant seven years later as the day we wrote it. In those seven years, Daniel has gone on to forge a distinguished career in education. And, in my ever so humble opinion, he truly is heeding his commencement speaker's advice and both doing something that matters & helping to save the world. And while I am at it, I want to congratulate two of my nieces who are graduating this spring, Katie and Sami. Two more graduates who I am certain will make their mark in the world!

My son, along with his peers from across the country, graduated from college this year. Our family had the honor of listening to Steven Chu, Secretary of Energy in the Obama administration, deliver the Washington University of St Louis commencement address. Chu, in his own uniquely charming and witty way, told the graduates his “take home message to you will be just one sentence. Actually, it will be just four words.”

Do something that matters.”

and then Chu added

Help save the world.
