Anime Character Costumes
As many of you already know, we are Yahoo news junkies and every once in a while, a story inspires us, appalls us, or simply makes us laugh. This morning's story about a gal from Ukraine who spends hours each day transforming herself into a real life anime character got our creative juices flowing. For months we have been contemplating how best to showcase the amazing custom anime character costumes but worried that they might not quite achieve the desired look on a real live human being.
We were wrong – with a little make-up and great cosplay costume, just about anyone can transform themselves into a living anime character for not much more than an off the rack Halloween costume. These high quality, custom designed cosplay anime character costumes look amazingly authentic and will definitely help you stand out from the pack this Halloween. Cosplay costumes also work great as couples costumes and group costumes but it is essential that you plan ahead because they are special order and take a few extra days for delivery.

Full of glitz, glamour, ornate details, and a true style all its own – what girl wouldn't want “The Great Gatsby” look? Whether you are planning a casual Gatsby themed garden party, fabulous, glamorous cocktail evening, or even attending a Great Gatsby costume viewing party, there are plenty of ways to add a flapper-esque flair to any look with the 1920s fashion inspired dresses and accessories over at ModCloth.
- Details, details, details. Epaulets, pearls, rhinestones, and sequins were highly used during this time period to add glitz to an evening outfit.
- Slender silhouettes. While you could still see a full skirt, long hemline, and high neck, the robe de style dress featuring a drop waist and straight cut was the most popular style.
- Haute headpieces. To top off the entire look, add a whimsical & decadent headpiece from ModCloth. You can even DIY a fabulous headband with ribbon, feathers, and gemstones!

The Great Gatsby Movie Viewing & Costume Party
The Great Gatsby Movie Viewing & Costume Party
The Great Gatsby Movie Viewing & Costume Party is our of our all time favorite themes! We absolutely love Great Gatsby themed Costume Parties. Not surprisingly, costumes are required. I always get flack from my husband when I suggest he simply wear a suit and hat. After much conjoling, I finally persuade him to don a dapper classic tuxedo like the one worn by Leonardo DiCaprio in the poster. Done!
An even harder problem is what should I wear? So many options but I particularly love the very reasonably priced Anna-Kaci flapper dresses on Amazon. To complete the outfits order a coordinating boa, Long Satin Gloves, a Costume Cigarette Holder, a flapper wig or headband or hat, and flapper beads / pearls.

As you well know, successful children's parties need detailed planning. Down time often equals trouble because when you put a bunch of kids together with nothing to do, I promise you they will either create drama (girls) or create chaos (boys). That is why Party Idea Pros highly recommends slotting in at least 4 organized activities in addition to eating. We recommend planning a doing activity, a craft activity, a game activity, and ending the party with a breaking the pinata. Additionally, we always plan an extra game or two just in case the kids aren't feeling one the activities we planned or each activity goes more quickly than anticipated. Remember it is much easier to cut out a planned game than it is to create one on the spot.
For Halloween consider planning a Witch Hunt as your doing activity where you turn out the lights, and players search in the dark with flashlights for witch paper cut-outs secretly placed around the party area! We love the Color Your Own Halloween Paddleball Games as the craft activity. And the Bean Bag Toss, Dart Board, Disk Drop, and Pin The Tail On The Cat all work for the game activity. And of course, there are plenty of great Halloween pinatas available. For the “just in case” games simply print out a few Halloween theme printable games and if you need them, you can let the kids choose which one to play. Also, for Halloween we would add one more activity – a fashion show so the kids can “show off” their costumes!
Happy Halloween & Party Hearty!
Yes, you are seeing this image correctly. That is Lady Gaga wrapped in bacon at the MTV VMAs 2010. We guess she really likes the meat since just this week, the Huffington Post posted pictures of Lady Gaga wearing a meat corset.
All these pictures got us thinking — Halloween is around the corner. You can re-create this iconic meat lovers look — even attend a costume party as a meat loving couple or entire meat wearing family. Don bacon costumes!
Kids love piñatas almost as much as they love candy. So combining a piñata with Halloween trick or treating – how perfect is that! We love these Halloween Piñatas – a scary black cat, a giant flying bat, a witch on a broomstick, an adorable Frankenstein, and a great carved pumpkin.
Halloween Piñatas are not only perfect additions to any party they may be a great alternative for those of you not so into trick or treating, begging for candy by knocking on strangers doors. The fact is that some children really do find the holiday of Halloween scary and overwhelming so inviting a few friends over to your house for a costume party may be just the answer. Send out Halloween invitations, serve Halloween theme food & drink, play Halloween games, offer cute Halloween party favors, have a costume fashion show, and end the festivities with breaking the piñata so everyone walks away with a bagful of candy. This way you also have complete control over the candy and don't have to comb through pillow cases full of yucky unwrapped candy handed out by strangers.
Have a safe Halloween and party hearty!
