2019 Holiday Card Trends
It is not too early to order your 2018 Holiday Cards! There are so many holiday cards from which to choose, so where to begin? Well this year, PartyIdeaPros finally got our act together enough to plan in advance for the holiday card season. We contacted some of our favorite merchants so we could actually touch and feel the cards ourselves. Yes, we admit it — we are ridiculously touchy feely types. Our trash cans are filled with not so cheap cards printed on flimsy paper with fuzzy photos and illegible print. On the other hand, our sample books are chock full of Minted cards and invitations. We love their clear graphics and beautiful eco-friendly papers. This year's Christmas and Hanukkah card trends include rounded corners, back designs, ornament cards, lots and lots of foil an glitter, and are chock full of images of winter greenery. And of course, classic design and colors never go out of style.

Holiday Card Envelopes
With the falling temperatures and changing of the leaves, it is time to get ready for the upcoming holiday frenzy! We know most of you do not start ordering your holiday cards until after Halloween, but you are beginning to explore your options. These days there are so many great holiday cards available, the question is where to begin, including what to do about your holiday card envelopes.
Here is our best advice.
- First choose which pictures you would like to include in your holiday card design.
- Next go to Tiny Prints or Minted and use their insert photo(s) option. This option is the best innovation in the world of holiday cards since the whole photo holiday card craze began because you will be able to tell immediately which cards work and which ones do not. This limits your options and makes choosing a design so much easier.
- Next you will need to decide whether you want to spend the extra for custom shapes and upgraded paper. We say, go for it but then again we save all of your cards, year in and year out, so we place value on all the little details.
- And finally, you will need to decide how you want your envelope to work. Yes, this is a fairly new twist to invitations and stationery and it is one we are obsessed with. As you know, we are all about first impressions. Invitations have always set the tone of a party and now even before your guest open your invitations, or in this case, holiday cards, you are using formerly unused space to send your messages of joy and peace and laughter, visually.

We are excited to announce this year's winners of Minted's annual holiday card design contest. For the 2015 design challenge more than 4,661 independent artists submitted entries and a record 2.4 million votes were cast. We are loving Oscar & Emma's 1st place design. From the list of winners, it was our hands down favorite. Truthfully, the 2nd and 3rd place designs seem a bit busy for our taste (although we do like the use of real foil), but we definitely agree that the rest of the cards deserve their place in the top ten. If you are not yet familiar with Minted, you should definitely check them out. They create some of the best quality stationery available and their 2015 holiday card winners are a step above the rest.
In celebration of all independent artists everywhere and their loyal & devoted customers, Minted is offering 20% OFF all Holiday Cards when you use promo code PREVIEW2015 now through September 28, 2015. Continue Reading →
I know it is only September but it is definitely not too early to start thinking about this year's holiday card!
And as always, we try to do the legwork for you by providing the definitive word on What's Hot & What's Not in stationery. One of this year's hottest trends in holiday greeting cards is what we like to call
Black & White, Merry & Bright
We absolutely love this simple, clean look with a pop of holiday cheer! We are also loving that this year's cards have patterns on the back so if your recipients do choose to display them yours will stand out from the rest from the back, too!
