Summer seems to be the time of year that many of our young friends are setting up new homes and beginning their adult lives, including entering the wonderful world of home entertaining. Not surprisingly, inspired by the amazing bar carts showcased on Pinterest, one of the questions we are most often asked is what are the 10 essentials for the home bar? We recently discovered this great home bar essentials guide by one of our favorite gift merchants, A Gift Personalized (yes, the very same company we turn to for bridesmaid gifts & groomsmen gifts.) This morning we were inspired by an article we stumbled upon an article on PopSugar addressing how to get ready to party and what exactly guests notice in your home. All of us who entertain at all know that one of the most stressful aspects of home entertaining, whether you are hosting a dinner party or your child's first birthday party, is getting your house in shape for your guests. Yes, you do need to clean but focus your time and efforts on making your bathrooms and kitchen spotless. Otherwise, shut the doors to rooms your guests do not need access to. As for the rest, we sorta agree there are generally just a handful of things your guests will notice about your home. No one will say – wow she so needs a new sofa or her carpet really deserves a cleaning. Your home decor is almost irrelevant so long as the rooms your guests see are tidied up and lack clutter. You can transform any room from drab to fab by implementing a few of these simple home entertaining essentials.
Ladies – is this not a “funtastic” way to combine cocktail hour and your party favors. We are obsessed. You are going to serve cocktails in some type of drink ware anyway so why not serve them in these adorable re-usable flasks that can now double as your party favor. #toocute How perfect are these Cocktails On the Go party favor flasks for your next ladies night cocktail hour or bachelorette party. Plus they are available in different designs. Just fill them with your favorite cocktail or mock cocktail recipe and display them in a lovely personalized party tub or antiqued copper tub like the one in the featured image. They are actually easier to handle than holding a traditional cocktail glass and your guests will not have to worry about inadvertent spills. You can even offer an awesome straw, if you like. Be sure to remind your guests that the party favor flasks are theirs to keep and use over and over again. Serve refills from a vintage chic punch bowl with handy funnels available for refilling the flasks. And think of all the glasses you will now not have to wash! Continue Reading →
One of my favorite couples is finally getting married. Shannon and Joe have been together for 7 years. I have had the honor of watching their relationship grow from smitten on their first date to a loving, supportive, and still smitten mature couple. As is the custom today, their wedding announcement indicated that they were registered at the usual stores. I spent way too long searching for the perfect present. Finally I narrowed it down to the vacuum cleaner, the knife set, or a generic glass vase. But rather than clicking “buy” I turned off the computer. I wanted to gift this amazing couple something special — something memorable. Yes, I went rogue but I don't think anyone is complaining.
So the next time I tackled this gifting project, I completely changed direction and sought only elegant and unique wedding gifts. I knew exactly what I was looking for — something elegant and classic, something the couple would use over and over again throughout their years together as they entertained family and friends. I wanted a gift that would add that little extra to their table yet would be something they would never buy for themselves and something that I would want to immediately add to PartyIdeaPros Classic Elegance party package.
In addition to the above feature pieces, I also fell in love will all three of these white ceramic cake plates.

There may not be two things in this world we love more than wine and cheese. As far as we are concerned if you pair the two it is very hard to go wrong however, we do understand there is a lot of anxiety when it comes to finding the perfectl pairing of the two.
We have picked three of our favorite cheeses, all available to be shipped anywhere in the country from DiBruno.com, and some great wines to pair them with from Cellars Wine Club to get you started.
First rule of thumb I like to follow when putting out a cheese tray for guests is this – go for one firm, one soft and one semi- soft cheese. This way you have a nice variety that can be eaten on their own or paired with bread, crackers, or even crudite. Continue Reading →
