Sweeten Your Party with a Candy Buffet

Are you stuck on what desserts you want to serve at your special occasion? Do you want something colorful, fun, and full of variety? Why not create a spectacular candy buffet full of delectable sweets and sugary treats? There are so many creative and imaginative ways to display candies, and we’re going to share some of our absolute favorites!

Once you’ve chosen your party theme colors, choosing your sweets for your candy bar should be fairly easy. We suggest you do a dry run with your empty containers to see how your chosen vessels look on your candy buffet. You’ll want your tallest vessel or decoration either in the center, or two tall vessels on the outside edges, with your smaller vessels near the front of the table. This will bring symmetry to your candy bar. Continue Reading →

Cheap Chic Holiday Gifts >> Cupcakes in a Glass Bell Jar

We recently stumbled upon a DIY gift idea involving baking mini banana breads in  ball mason jars (lightly oil the jars and only fill batter about half way up).  We liked almost everything about the project except the bedraggled cloth tied to the lids – it cheapened the entire look and not surprisingly, we believed we could find a way to make a good idea even better >> hence, Cheap Chic Holiday Gifts – Cupcakes in a Glass Bell Jar !

As usual, however, when we begin obsessing about a project, we never quite know the direction our research will take us.  This time we got sidetracked and quickly became enamored with these featured wonderful Miniature Glass Bell Jars with White Fluted BaseHoliday Cupcake Wrappers, Cheap Chic Holiday Gifts - Cupcakes in a Glass Bell JarHow great would it be to add an adorable holiday cupcake wrapper to create a festive, chic and expensive looking little gift of thanks.  It would be especially cute if you used the Merry & Bright Cupcake KitThe Nutcracker Cupcake Kit, The Twelve Days of Christmas Cupcake Kit, or create more of a non-denominational winter wonderland look using the damask light blue patterned cupcake wrappers (perfect for teacher gifts!)

OMG – now that we are thinking of it these would make fabulous party favors for just about any celebration.  For Thanksgiving make pumpkin cupcakes and decorate them with the Turkey with Hats Cupcake Kit. For baby showers think Peter Rabbit, Animal Parade, and vintage baby cupcake wrappers.  And how perfect are these glass bell jars for a chic Paris Party!

Buy the glass jars in bulk (they are cheaper that way) and store them away for whenever you need a cheap but chic little gift of thanks.

Best Holiday Party Theme – Host{ess} a Sno Ball Party!

Best Holiday Party Theme of 2012 - Host{ess} a Sno Ball Party!

Photo courtesy of  Homemade Hostess Sno Balls

The 2012 holiday season is definitely the year to host{ess} a pink snowball holiday party.  With Hostess declaring bankruptcy this week the end of an era has arrived.  If you hurry you may still be able to pick up a few packs of classic Hostess Sno Balls – the long popular chocolate creme filled cakes covered in marshmallow and then covered in coconut flakes.  Better yet, start a new holiday tradition – throw a Pink Snowball baking party! This theme would also work great as an adorable winter bridal or baby shower, a great sorority holiday party, teacher appreciation holiday luncheon, or a sweet sixteen or Quinceanera party!

We can't believe after lots, and lots of searching we finally found invitations, stamps, centerpieces (just add pink or white tightly packed carnations arranged to resemble a snowball or better yet top with an edible sno ball!), and matching aprons that all coordinate  perfectly with this party theme.  We even found a recipe for homemade hostess sno balls.

Even though coconut is my least favorite food of all time, I must admit this has to be the best holiday party theme of 2012.
