What could be easier? Are you like us — we plan every detail of our parties. We plan the invitations, the party decor, the party favors, the food. But we never think about planning activities absolutely convinced that our guests are interesting and engaging individuals and can easily entertain themselves. (except for children's parties where we plan and schedule every minute).
And then once in a while, we either have a sneaking suspicion a day or so in advance or are caught completely off guard right then and there. It is then we realize things aren't going so well. We have had political conversations go ballistic and strident parenting advice get a bit overbearing. There is not much to do about it except quickly change the conversation. That's where these Halloween printable games come in extraordinarily handy. In just a few minutes, we can change the course of the evening. Don't get caught in a scary spot. Plan ahead this Halloween by having a stack of pre-printed games ready at a moments notice. Have a fun-filled Halloween and party hearty!
One more thought … many of these print and play games work great in a classroom. Some are even customizable so you can tailor them to your lesson or set them aside for your classroom Halloween celebration.

We love this painted pumpkin vase with fresh flowers that showed up on our Facebook feed from Beau-coup, one of our favorite party favor merchants. Yes, flowers always look great in pumpkins but an orange pumpkin with fall flowers is very predictable. All they did in this photo was spray paint this pumpkin white and add a chic contemporary floral arrangement to create a fresh centerpiece look for fall. We love the painted pumpkin displayed on the acacia cake stand also!
We also think this idea would translate well to an intimate dinner party or could even be used at each place setting as a place card / party favor (one per couple is just fine!). Simply use a miniature painted pumpkin and add a handful of freshly picked ombre flowers...
We are definitely adding this to our We <3 Fall Pinterest board as we gather ideas for this year's Thanksgiving festivities. Continue Reading →
The Book Of Mormon Inspired Group Costumes
At the last minute my husband and I made a spur of the moment decision to attend parents' weekend at USC. Too late to get football tickets, we decided to try to get tickets to see The Book of Mormon. Every time we visit NYC we look into getting tickets but the prices are prohibitively high.
Not that The Book of Mormon tickets in Los Angeles were inexpensive, but this time we decided to go for it and am I glad we did. Not only did I love the characters of Elder Price and the rest of the gang but I must admit, while watching the fabulous staged “Mormon Spooky Hell Dream” number I was inspired — I couldn't wait to get home and try to pull a last minute group costume together for you. I promise, it is not too late to order your Halloween costume online and receive delivery before next weekend's Halloween festivities begin. Continue Reading →

Personalized Halloween Cocktail Napkins
When we first saw this picture on Tiny Prints instagram, all we could think of is we need to share this modern take on a very classic party idea. Years ago, no self respecting hostess would consider throwing a party without having ordered personalized cocktail napkins. We find it fascinating that all things from the 1970's are very much back in vogue this year including cocktail napkins. The only difference is that in the day, the graphic was design was usually minimal, maybe a small rose or leaf combined with the guest of honor's name in one of a half dozen or so typography choices. Today, we are privy to fabulous graphics and a whole slew of fonts from which to choose. Continue Reading →
