Chic and Stylish Save the Dates
Can you believe it? Wedding season is fast approaching and it is time to send out your save the date cards!
PartyIdeaPros recommends that if you are planning a destination wedding or intend to invite out of town guests, try to send out your wedding save the dates at least 4-6 months in advance. This will give your guests time to take advantage of the best possible rates as they make their travel arrangements.
Even if most of your guests live locally, save the dates really do help to ensure your guests do not make other plans for your special day. Although I am writing this in February, much of June is already spoken for and we have already booked travel for a few weekends in July and August. Would we change our plans and cancel our tickets if invited to a wedding? Absolutely — however, not everyone would be willing to eat the cancellation fees and reschedule their vacations, especially if the whole situation could have been avoided if the bride and groom had simply sent out a save the date.
Now let's assume the dates are set, the plans are being made, and you recognize it is important to let people know when the big day is. Where should you begin searching for chic and stylish save the date cards and wedding invitations?
Finally, we must admit, even for us, professional wedding planners, choosing a stationery style can get a bit overwhelming so it sometimes helps to see what others consider to be the most chic, the most stylish save the date designs. A you can see, todays brides are choosing photo cards that capture the story of the couple's romantic journey. This year's most popular color palettes are grays and golds and other neutrals. Choose photos that are simple and/or stylized — photos that tell a story, photos with what Tyra Banks would call “smizing” eyes!
