As you well know, successful children's parties need detailed planning. Down time often equals trouble because when you put a bunch of kids together with nothing to do, I promise you they will either create drama (girls) or create chaos (boys). That is why Party Idea Pros highly recommends slotting in at least 4 organized activities in addition to eating. We recommend planning a doing activity, a craft activity, a game activity, and ending the party with a breaking the pinata. Additionally, we always plan an extra game or two just in case the kids aren't feeling one the activities we planned or each activity goes more quickly than anticipated. Remember it is much easier to cut out a planned game than it is to create one on the spot.
For Halloween consider planning a Witch Hunt as your doing activity where you turn out the lights, and players search in the dark with flashlights for witch paper cut-outs secretly placed around the party area! We love the Color Your Own Halloween Paddleball Games as the craft activity. And the Bean Bag Toss, Dart Board, Disk Drop, and Pin The Tail On The Cat all work for the game activity. And of course, there are plenty of great Halloween pinatas available. For the “just in case” games simply print out a few Halloween theme printable games and if you need them, you can let the kids choose which one to play. Also, for Halloween we would add one more activity – a fashion show so the kids can “show off” their costumes!
Happy Halloween & Party Hearty!
