Take the Dare, Show you Care
For years, I have admired the thoughtfulness of my good friend Carolyn and my great Aunt Libby – two amazing people who, year in and year out, always send the perfect card for every single occasion. I could never figure out how they managed to keep it all organized, and I am a pretty organized person. So starting today I personally have resolved to enter everyone's birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions into my calendar app. And then actually send a card.

I like to think of myself as a thoughtful person but if I am honest with myself, much of my thoughtfulness is just that … thinking about being thoughtful. Just in the last few months, both my friends Vicki and Karen lost their family dogs. They were heart broken and I knew it. For weeks I thought about sending a card but never seemed to get around to buying one. Eventually too much time passed. Yet another instance of thoughtfulness without thoughtful action.
