The Giving Tree Theme Party Planning, Ideas & Supplies

FTC Disclosure 2ac

Monica texted me today and challenged Party Idea {Pros} to come up with a few ideas for a thoughtful yet playful The Giving Tree theme event the school is hosting for Grandparents Day. I didn't have much time to pull it all together but I do believe this is a good starting point to give the committee direction and to get their creative juices flowing.

Any of the trees, real or not, will work well on a buffet.  The least expensive way to approach the event is to fill a large clear vase with red apples and then go into the back yard and gather some tree branches to add to the vase or simply use apples at different heights to decorate your table.  Other options include this artificial apple tree priced at just $33.99  as well as living celebration trees  which you can give away as gifts at the end of the night or plant on campus. We always like bonsai trees since they herald good fortune and happiness. We also think this white cardboard DIY wishing tree kit is really cute  and the accessories are available in many colors including blue and yellow.  Whatever you choose, we would recommend picking up a few The Giving Tree (it's even available in Hebrew!)books and propping them up on the buffet.

Gift choice will vary depending on your budget.  The most economical would be  either the heart shape plantable seeds (grandparent <3) or flower shape plantable seeds.  you could display them in a bucket or hang them from the buffet and/or centerpiece trees.  Simple, thoughtful, cute!  We also like the symbolism behind this miniature watering can filled with plantable seeds.  Personalized plantable magic wishing beans start at just 59 cents each or can be packaged in a cute flower pot or watering can for an additional ~$2.00 each. We also like these chocolate covered pretzel sticks – they remind us of tree branches.

Hope this helps.

Party Hearty!
