Thanksgiving Paper Placemat Table Setting Ideas

Update!

Although the original autumn paper table setting placemats sold out long ago, we just found these very similar Farmers Market Paper Placemat Pads (and no, they are not limited time offerings – they are available all year round!)

We recommend you combine these stylish-yet-rustic paper placemats, paper napkins, and paper table runners, each adorned with a motif of fresh garden vegetables, to create a stunning Thanksgiving table.  The combination will result in the oft sought but hard to achieve sense of sophistication and quality that comes across as effortless.

Although I haven't completely made up my mind, with 50 relatives ringing the doorbell at exactly 1:00 on Thanksgiving Thursday, I am very tempted to go with this design aesthetic. The idea would be to combine the causal elegance of this  kraft paper design with my collection of fine china, Fiesta dinnerware and crystal stemware. Not only does this design blend seamlessly into my industrial modern home decor, I think it will make re-setting the tables in between courses so much easier – I can just snatch up the dirty placemats, toss them in the trash and add a fresh mat at each place setting  Plus, I could pull the look all together with copper colander centerpieces (filled with fresh seasonal vegetables, and cacti or ivy filler) and chalkboard chic food tags. Since I serve so many different dishes to satisfy a vast array of dietary restrictions, I think it might be helpful to label them all so individuals can choose whether or not to partake. And while I am thinking about it, wouldn't it be great to serve Moscow Mules in copper cups as a festive drink to visually compliment the centerpieces?

Halloween Party Flower Centerpieces

It doesn't take much to figure out that we love flowers. We always have either a fresh floral bouquet, small flower arrangement, or beautiful orchid in every room of our office and home.  So not surprisingly, to get in the Halloween spirit we went on a search for just a few of the fun Halloween themed floral arrangements available both for ourselves and to be sent as gifts.

Our first stop was Gift Tree because  not only do we like their selections, we know we can count on them for only the freshest flowers delivered in a professional and timely manner.  We love the Candy Corn Delight for an all purpose autumn arrangement but if we were hosting a Halloween party, we might have to go with the Ghostly Gardens Bouquet. Truthfully, we keep second guessing ourselves – all of the arrangements are lovely.

Fall weddings are just around the corner and it is none to early to begin planning.
Here are some things to consider:

Dates

The very first detail you must consider is the date and time of your wedding however do not order your invitations or save the dates before you confirm your venue. It is not uncommon to have to adjust your dates around venue availability or alternatively, adjust your choice of venue around the dates.

Colors

The colors you naturally think of for fall (deep reds, oranges, and browns) work great, but if you want to open it up a little, consider olives, purples, dark yellows, and cream.

Some great color combinations include:

Eggplant – Dark Olive – Light Olive
Chocolate – Dark Red – Orange
Chocolate – Light Brown – Cream
Eggplant – Chocolate – Light Brown

Save the Date

While traditional etiquette calls for sending save the date cards (or magnets) out six months before the big day, there is no reason why you can't send them out 4-5 months out for a late fall wedding.

Especially for your out-of-town guests who need to plan around school and possibly babysitters, they will appreciate any advanced heads up. We recommend Wedding Paper Divas, where you can choose from thousands of designs and then customize them with your own text, pictures, etc. You can send cardspostcards, or even magnets.

Invitations

Wedding Paper Divas also has hundreds of invitation designs, with nearly 70 specifically for fall weddings.

You can choose a design that matches your colors, a design with or without pictures, and customize them to your tastes. Whatever design you choose, they are sure to impress.

Invitations should be sent approximately eight weeks before the wedding.

Tip: For best results and a potential price break, order all of your stationery at the same time. Usually sites like Wedding Paper Divasoffer discounts for ordering matching invitations, programs, menus, and place cards. It also helps you to make 100% sure the designs are exactly the same (same colors, fonts, etc.)

There is no better source than Wedding Paper Divas for all of your wedding needs. Whether you order invitations or not, you will definitely want to check out their free wedding web sites. You can pick a theme to go along with over 40 of their most popular wedding invitations.

Bridal Showers

One last thought – bridal shower invitations should be mailed about 4 weeks before the shower unless of course, there are lots of guests making the trip from out of town and then additional notice would be appreciated.  Recently we received a bridal shower invitation in November for a mid-July shower.  And  then received a reminder again in April.  We were appalled.  The shower is not the wedding and should never be treated as equal.
