We were just perusing Dessy, one of our favorite bridal sites, to see if they might have anything special for the holiday season and stumbled upon these pretty pashminas. Wrap the special gals in your life in luxury! Pashmina shawls are elegant for evening or formal wear, and stylish for casual wear too. Wrap a pashmina stole around bare shoulders for a touch of late-evening warmth, or tie around your neck for casual panache. They not only make perfect bridesmaid gifts but they are lovely holiday gifts, birthday gifts and any time gifts. In addition to weddings, think holiday party attire, New Year's party dress accessories, gala formal wear, and special occasion celebrations of all kinds. We think every well-dressed gal should own at least one, and preferably multiple, pretty pashminas. And at just $28.00 they will not blow your budget but still look very expensive. Continue Reading →

Now that Halloween is behind us, mom's are beginning to think about what their daughters will wear to this year's Thanksgiving dinner and holiday parties. Our first stop for girls Thanksgiving outfits is always Tea Collection. Not only are the clothes adorable, every girl we know loves these easy to wear pieces. The rompers and coordinating leggings are not at all confining and their soft durable fabrics pass most girls “itchy & tickle tests”. We also love the bright colors and fashion forward prints that satisfy our constant need to be teaching our children about the world. (Tea Collection clothes are authentically inspired with a fundamental artistic interpretation of the global destination. Continue Reading →
Wear Outfits, Not Costumes
Just today we received an email from Shopstyle announcing that outfits rather than costumes are 2015's hottest Halloween trend. We wanted to scream – told you so! Every Halloween we feature real life clothes that can be dressed up for Halloween and then worn again throughout the year.
For example a must own little black dress like the one featured below, and available in sizes xs – 4x, can be paired with black cat bags, headbands, shoes, jewelry and cat face paint. And then after Halloween you can continue to wear the dress and all the accessories, just not all together.
DIY Tutu >>Winter Wonderland Tutu & Gumball Necklace
We are obsessed with this DIY tutu tutorial we found on Birthday Express. We generally turn to Birthday Express as our “go to” site for kids birthday party supplies but never really thought about using those same supplies in fresh new ways. It was one of those “duh” moments. Why not use tulle to make our own tutus, especially with Halloween just around the corner. And the fact is that although this DIY tutorial uses 2 shades of blue tulle to make a snowflake winter wonderland tutu (which could also be used as a Frozen costume), you could just as easily make a tulle tutu using any of the 14 colors of tulle offered on Amazon. Plus, you can easily adjust the length of the tutu to make mom + me matching tutus. We can already envision clown tutu costumes, flower & butterfly tutu costumes, and even tutus showcasing the colors of your favorite sports teams. Continue Reading →
2015 has been quite the year. We were so inspired by this Great Gets post imagining Halloween costumes ripped from the headlines. Theme your Halloween and create a ripped from the headlines Halloween party! Tell your guests to arrive in costumes straight off the front page and the evening news — between politics, sports, and culture, there's plenty to choose from! These costumes are easy, fun, and add a touch of humor and pop culture knowledge to any Halloween party. And yes although some of the featured costumes are satirical and poke a bit of fun at politicians and other public figures, we have made a conscious decision not to feature costumes we deem disrespectful, or have the potential to incite violence or foster hatred and we implore you to do the same. Please no Caitlyn Jenner or Black Lives Matter costumes, and please, please stay away from anything and everything ISIS.
