A few weeks ago we took a first stab at a pink snowman party. Today we are refining the vision to create an adorable little girl's first birthday celebration.
The inspiration is this Zazzle invitation. Karl, we agree, the cute little pink cap beats the traditional snowman hat, hands down. We did not want the save the date to match the invitation so together we came up with a coordinating look to set the party's tone yet not take away from the invitation itself.……

Is your child (or you) a Lego fanatic? If so, a Lego birthday party may be an ideal theme for this year’s birthday party. It is unique, colorful, and yes, playful.
The minute we discovered the featured Lego Party favor boxes, cookies & candies on Beau-coup, our “go to” party favor site, we knew we had to find anything and everything related to hosting a Lego theme birthday party. …Where the Wild Things Are – A Tribute to Maurice Sendak
“The wild things roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws but Max stepped into his private boat and waved good-bye and sailed back over a year and in and out of weeks and through a day and into the night of his very own room where he found his supper waiting for him and it was still hot.” Where the Wild Things Are
As many of you already know, we are huge fans of Maurice Sendak. For more than forty years, the books Maurice Sendak has written and illustrated have nurtured children and adults alike and have challenged established ideas about what children's literature is and should be. The New York Times has recognized that Sendak's work “has brought a new dimension to the American children's book and has helped to change how people visualize childhood.” Parenting recently described Sendak as “indisputably, the most revolutionary force in children's books.”
To honor Mr. Sendak's memory we think the most appropriate tribute is making sure you have at least one Sendak book in your personal library. Here are a few of our favorites! Just scroll over the book cover for the title and click on the picture for a summary of each book.

Your own little princess-in-training will be so excited to celebrate her birthday with a Sofia the First birthday party theme. And from a mom's perspective, we love that this theme reinforces the notion that most important to becoming a princess is having the characteristics of honesty, loyalty, compassion and grace. It is not the title that makes one worthy of the role. Our goal is to make sure your Sofia the First birthday party reflects those ideals, too. Continue Reading →
