Dr. Seuss Theme Party Planning, Ideas & Supplies

A Dr Seuss theme party is not just limited to children's birthday celebrations.  Be creative – think baby showers, graduation parties (Oh, the Places You'll Go), Halloween (Green Eggs and Ham) and Christmas parties (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) , and elementary school fundraisers and teacher appreciation days.  We love Dr. Seuss and concoct any excuse to create a party theme using works as inspiration.

Who is Ted Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss)?

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
Theodor Seuss Geisel, best known to the world as Dr. Seuss, was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts. During his distinguished career Geisel wrote and illustrated 44 children's books, including such all-time favorites as The Cat in the Hat, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, Green Eggs and Ham, Oh, the Places You'll Go, Fox in Socks, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  Dr. Seuss books have been translated into more than 15 languages with over 200 million copies finding their way into homes and hearts around the world.  In addition to the books, Geisel's works have inspired a Broadway musical, and innumerable children's television specials and films , with the latest Seuss motion picture, The Lorax Movie, released on March 2, 2012.  Other honors include two Academy awards, two Emmy awards, a Peabody award and the Pulitzer Prize. SpongeBob SquarePants Birthday Party

If your child is crazy for the character who lives in a pineapple under the sea, throw a SpongeBob SquarePants birthday party! Read on for our ideas on creating a perfect SpongeBob SquarePants birthday party with ideas on decorations, favors, games, invitations and more.

Who is SpongeBob Square Pants?

Deep down in the Pacific Ocean in the subterranean city of Bikini Bottom lives a square yellow sea sponge named SpongeBob Squarepants. SpongeBob lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, loves his job as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab, and has a knack for getting into all kinds of trouble without really trying. When he's not getting on the nerves of his cranky next door neighbor Squidward, SpongeBob can usually be found smack in the middle of all sorts of strange situations with his best buddy, the simple yet lovable starfish, Patrick, or his thrill-seeking surfer-girl squirrel pal, Sandy Cheeks. In Bikini Bottom, fish walk, blowing bubbles is art, and the tastiest undersea treat is a deep-fried Krabby Patty Burger. Dive in and soak it all up with SpongeBob! (SpongeBob Square Pants TV Promo)

Party Essentials

Party Idea Pros has an “old fashion” approach to kids’ parties. We say keep them small, keep them short, and keep them simple. We love hula hoops, beach balls,, crayons, washable markers, glue sticks, and musical instruments. Generally, the number of guest should equal the age of the birthday child, but don’t obsess if you are a few over or under — it is not worth the hurt feelings for an extra child or even two. Never, ever deliver invitations as school, unless every single child is invited!!!!! Skip the jumpies and the pony rides.

Pink Winter One-derland Party Planning, Ideas & Supplies

Pink Winter Onederland Birthday Party

Pink Winter One-derland Party Planning, Ideas & Supplies

A few weeks ago we took a first stab at a pink snowman party.  Today we are refining the vision to create an adorable little girl's first birthday celebration.

The inspiration is this Zazzle invitation. Karl, we agree, the cute little pink cap beats the traditional snowman hat, hands down. We did not want the save the date to match the invitation so together we came up with a coordinating look to set the party's tone yet not take away from the invitation itself.
