Centerpiece Ideas Call your local Jewish Family Services. Many offer a program called Centerpieces for Tzedakah. JFS (or its local equivalent) will rent you centerpieces for your event with all proceeds benefitting a local charity. This is a great option if friends or family have offered to host the Kiddush luncheon in your daughter’s honor. We did this for my niece’s Bat Mitzvah in Atlanta and arranged for it all by phone in San Diego. Be sure to include a note on each table explaining the significance of the centerpiece. Consider creating centerpieces to donate to your local food pantry or homeless shelter. Display non-perishable food in a paper grocery bag cut down to about 4 inches high. or create baskets filled with stuffed animals, books, sporting goods, toys, or school supplies or toiletries.
