Party Idea Pros strongly suggests you keep your invitations occasion specific. Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are very special life cycle events and should be respected as such. There are lots of invitations to choose from but here is our favorite.

Embossed Border of Jerusalem Invitation
This square, layered, flat invitation features an ecru bottom card with a brown, textured middle card. The top card features an embossed border of Jerusalem. Square cards require additional postage. Personalized Stamps for Invitation
Make a statement with a personalized stamp. Either use a fine picture of the Bar Mitzvah boy or copy and save a Party Idea Pros image (above) to personalize your stamps. The image chosen for this invitation is a replica of the Gates of Jerusalem 23rd Independence Day Souvenir stamp sheet. Alternatively, consider having your son create his own version of the Gates of Jerusalem to use as the artwork for the stamp. Please be sure to bring a complete invitation, including all inserts, to a local post office to determine exactly how much postage is required.

USPS Stamps
If you decide not to customize, please do not mix stamps. I recommend using either the new Amber Alert, Nine Mile Prairie, or Yosemite National Park stamps. You may need to order more postage than you need. i.e. 3 $.39 stamps for $1.17, although you may only need $.84 worth of postage.

Jacqueline Berg's tallit are made from all natural silk fiber. Each end is adorned with four to five bands of coordinating ribbons. Working from one specific beautiful French Ombre imported ribbon that is 1 ½" wide/high with variegated colorings a 4" fringe is used. The Atarah (or neck band) is embroidered with a matching thread to the ribbons. The Tzitzit is tied to the 4 corners in the appropriate traditional manner.

Kiddush Luncheon

We firmly believe the Kiddush luncheon decor should relate either to your son’s Parsha (Torah portion), reflect his mitzvah project, be consumable, or be very simple and neutral.
Centerpiece Ideas
Call your local Jewish Family Services. Many offer a program called Centerpieces for Tzedakah. JFS (or its local equivalent) will rent you centerpieces for your event with all proceeds benefitting a local charity. This is a great option if friends or family have offered to host the Kiddush luncheon in your daughter’s honor. We did this for my niece’s Bat Mitzvah in Atlanta and arranged for it all by phone in San Diego. Be sure to include a note on each table explaining the significance of the centerpiece.
Consider creating centerpieces to donate to your local food pantry or homeless shelter. Display non-perishable food in a paper grocery bag cut down to about 4 inches high. or create baskets filled with stuffed animals, books, sporting goods, toys, or school supplies or toiletries.
To create toiletry gifts for woman’s shelters fill a few of these buckets with all the essentials.
